Upon reaching the Missouri River, I've found many sections of the Katy Trail to be flooded with no alternative route.
The flooding continues to worsen as the rains continue. Water is flowing down from Nebraska to the Mississippi River valley along the Missouri River valley causing flooding, road closings and power outages.
Right now I am in Columbia, Missouri, safe and dry in an abandoned McMansion.
At this point, when sunshine does return, I may need to alter my route away from the Katy Trail and take US route 40 to Pittsburgh.
